RX-S35 National is fabulous. Brilliant tuner in both AM and FM. Cassette side is the best I have ever heard on a wa lkman. Love it.

Is there anything in particular or special about this unit? I think I missing something here.

mine is still boxed and i have only used it a few times. it's got a nice clean sound but a bit on the heavy side. the only fault i see is if it's dropped it will crack in the side. the reason being it is plastic surrounded and heavy. i know because i dropped one once and that was the end due to the crack.

I think I have a silver version from that one!!

Here are some good pictures of the Panasonic version same as National RX-S35. Agreed dont drop it as it is large and all plastic. Cant comment on performance bought mine over 2 years ago been on shelf since purchased. Sad reality when you have over 330 Walkman you play it when you receive it and on the shelf it goes. Try to rotate playing them at least every 6 months and that is still a daunting task. Have a few favorites that last for months then find some others usually. Guess I need to dig this one out and see what it sounds like. Dont remember it being a stellar performer.
