Hi,i am trying to find out the model of Aiwa walkman which i owned back in 1986/87. From what i remember it was a dark red in colour (poss metallic),very compact - not much bigger than a cassette case.It had touch buttons not push and i think i payed about £60 - £80 back then from HMV.
Does anyone have an idea which one it may be, or a complete Aiwa walkman model list for 86/87?

Crikey, that's a tough one, have a look through the Aiwa section of MusicPlayers DE, I know he has some late eighties units. Go to 'Walkmen' then click on 'Aiwa' and scroll down, let us know the model if it's there or if there's anything close and then we can get more info for ya.

I believe the HS-P08 was a 86 or 87 model.
Check out this great informative reference site on all Walkman models it list the HS-P07 being a 85 model.

The AIWA HS-08 series was made and introduced back in July 1985. including P08P8 (japan Model).

The AIWA HS-07 Series was made and introduced back in June 1984 including the HS-P07.

I had that HS-PX303A in silver around 1985-86 i see in your avatar thelion...but mine was the recorder...

If you mean PX303 UK/PX900 US (PX30 Japan - march 1989) it was introduced in Dec 1989 according to AIWA service manual. Second edition in silver model was introduced by Feb 1990 according to the AIWA first edition Japanese catalog.


If you referring to PX101 (PX10 Japan, PX700 US) it was first introduced by Dec 1987 according to it's service manual. second edition/ upgraded edition the PX20 (japan only) was out in 1988 with HX Amorphous Head.


If you need to know specific info on any AIWA between 1984 to 1992 I have them all. I can even send you a front scan of any original manual or service manual they had back then.
