In my country there are no fans of analog walkman and I could not exchange ideas with anyone. Doctor your message is inspiring to all of us here. I am always excited when we have a new member especially when they are so passionate about collecting Walkman. That you are a accomplished electrical engineer who can not only repair them but modify them to even sound better is incredable. When ever you can take pictures and post a step by step of your repair will help many of us.

Ci are too many graduates, engineers, lawyers, doctors, etc. in the world and few craftsman. In order to perfect a walkman mechanically and electronically is easier if you are a skilled craftsman. The electronic engineers have studied many years and are good in theory, but then you need the dexterity of an expert technician to repair and modify. When I need something to study at a theoretical level I read a book or consulting an electronic engineer and you're done. But an electronic engineer can not learn to work with your hands if you have not done since he was a child. Please tell me if I was able to explain and if you agree with me. As for the photos of my repairs and modifications will be happy to publish them on this forum as soon as I receive the camera I purchased. Just enough time to become familiar with using it. But please do not groped to make you what you'll see in the photos. The walkman is very delicate in both mechanical and electronic, and if you do not are an experienced technician can create serious damage, some detectable only with an oscilloscope, frequency counter, a wow and flutter meter etc.. In inexperienced hands it could reduce drastically the sound performance of a walkman, especially the most sophisticated.
