Your help and expertise is desperately wanted...

In the run up to the Christmas holidays in 1982 maybe 83, I found a odd looking red box hidden in the back of one of the kitchen cupboards. No one was home at the time, so I decided to have a sneak peak. The largish red box, about the size of a normal cereal box, was red with white lettering. Audio-tone? Not sure. But it dawned on me that this was indeed destined to be my gift that year. I was in awe..... I had heard about these "walkman" type things, and this would be great for playing back tapes made at home (which by then would have been stuff home taped of the radio, like the charts on a Sunday night as well as whatever else was of interest on Capital 194).

All I remember was the arduous task of then pretending I had no idea what gift I was getting.

Anyway, long story short, it was a great little machine. Larger than a real walkman, but very solid. Had a TALK button, two headphone sockets, I seem to remember. It was aslo odd that it had ffwd and rwd buttons. I was aware that this was not a top of the range model, but it still rocked. It lasted for years, and I think may have been retired when I got my first Aiwa 05MKII

Now, some 25 years later, Im wondering if A: anyone knows what it was called, and B: Are there any for sale.

Thats the one, although the colouring is different, and the rec button was originally a talk button. Plus all the 80's artwork wasnot there. It was just grey, with the black fascia to the right. But fundamentally, that is the machine. Now we just need to see just how many different flavours it came in and take it from there.

So, does anyone else recognize it? Seen it in a thrift shop, car boot sale, Garage sale.... maybe even have one lying around. Im guessing they were sold in vast numbers and some must have survived the rigors of the eighties.
