I am so glad I found you folks. I was reading this forum for at least 3 hours yesterday. I was a high-end Aiwa junkie back in the 80s and 90s, then got into high-end Sony Discmans as well. Here are some pics of my stuff that I've dug out of my closet.















I also have the HS-J600 somewhere in my closet. Discmans I have include the Sony D-555, D-35, D-515, D-777, DE-905, and DE-J915.

I always liked the sound of the late 90's Aiwas...the HS-PX 397 of which I have two, sounds very good indeed with a properly recorded tape. The have also proved very reliabale and durable.

I also like the sound of one of my 90's Aiwa-a HS-JX849 which has BBE like will1066's JX707.

I also had the JX849 for a while, but sold it to my a friend when I was raising money to get the JX707. It was a good unit. My brother's last Walkman he got before moving on to Discmen and iPod was an EX-1.
