WM-DD9

I have now been living with my DD9 for over a month now and I am using it daily for my commute to work. As with my D6C (which I was using daily) I am using TDK SA tapes and prefer to record without dolby. The sound of the DD9 is amazing.

Everyone at work who laughs at me for using tapes, are blown away when they hear it.

I got back into tapes as I had become fed up with the audio experience of digital files. The only problem is that these 'vintage machines' won't last for ever. When they eventually do break what is to be done then.

Who is prepared to start manufacturing a high end portable tape player?

Hello Surfstussy,

I would give my technical opinion on your reflection.

The DD9 can last forever if you can take care of it. I want to tell you something else. I do not know that the recorder you uses the tapes to prepare for your DD9, but if you have a quality recording and with the appropriate UPGRADE your DD9 (change double azimuth, etc.), you can listen to the Dolby C and the position CR / MT with a sound even higher than the CD. Using the Dolby OFF and the normal position with chrome or metal tapes, is a trick, not hi-fi. If the DD9 is well calibrated and have a quality recorder, you can listen to the Dolby C and the position of CR / MT with a spectacular quality. You can not do without it. I recording my chrome and metal tapes with Dolby C. I use a WM-D6C on which I made the upgrade. I can assure you that I do not feel the need of any other equipment. My DD9 and my D6C are unsurpassed.

Best wishes for your DD9 and take care of it. You have a marvelous machine in your hands.

Hello.
