While this has been posted before, the fact that it remained in production for so long is testament to its quality and reliability. I wonder what serial numbers the last machines in 2002 had.

His serial number for the Sony WM D6C in the pictures above 205456;

older Sony WM-D6C - serial number - 124619 - no box
newer Sony WM-D6C - serial number - 301487 - box

Sony WM-D6 - serial number - 23186 - box
Sony WM-D6 - serial number - 32305 - box

I dont know when these were manufactured would the above serial numbers help?
