I have been interested in Sanyo Walkmans for a while, have been looking for a m5550 in decent condition for a while now with no look. A friend has one in pristine condition, he keeps reminding me of this(laughing and sniggering at me, i'm not to fussed coz i have two sony dd9's he has none). So i decided to go for it and just payed £50 for one on ebay u.k, hope it's as good as the seller discribed. I bought a sony wm-d6 (not the 'c' version for only £20 fully working and sounds good to) so i guess i can be a bit extravagant. Also have a few other sanyo's mg80d in al three shades yellow, red and silver, mg55,mg7sp,mg,mg95,mgp9,m4440,mgr80 and mgr76 in particular the mg80d although slightly muffled sounding is a very nice compact unit especially in red, I often find myself picking it up and using it even when looking for a different make and model. Will have a nervous 5 day wait until i recieve my sanyo m5550.
Never had a Sanyo Walkman, Though seen many of them 'Not' Working so never got one...
Prefer Sony walkman's...DD9's D6C's D3's

The non working one's are some that i have purchased in the past, and are very simple inside surprisingly so in some cases, belt being very accessable. Generally all i have to do is replace a perished belt or resolder the hd/phone socket and a quick clean. It's more a style thing with me, guess it's their looks and ease of use that attract me more to them than their sound quality but the Sony and Aiwa's are far better in that department. Have a Aiwa hs-pl777( looks identiclal to hs-pl77)with a belt replacement in progress, a much more difficult procedure as the circuit board has to be desoldered and resoldered(a reason that puts many people off Aiwa's). Fortunately for me i have 20+ yrs experience at this sort of thing, but i have adapted tool's some times made them(not trying to be a showing off, ok maybe i am,wish i had a better grasp of grammer thow) just to get the job done a bit quicker, coz kids always trying to see what dad's up to. The Aiwa is a beautiful unit to behold be even better when i get it working.
like what I read above - so sent a pm...
