Why would someone pay $112.37 for a Sony WM-F2078 on Ebay?

Hi, I'm a collector and new here. I was checking for recent highest-price completed Walkman auctions on Ebay and ran across this one for a WM-F2078, that didn't even have the model number in the title. I don't understand what made it worth $112--I have one and it doesn't seem that special. There are others listed now with no bids. It was item number 190636916259. I asked the seller, and she was equally surprised by the result. Any insight? And Thanks, what a great site!!!

My guess is ;
1. It works perfectly according to the seller.
2. The accesories are included (working headphones, belt clip)
3. cosmetically it's in good shpe
but at the end of the day, the answer lies in the head of the buyer/ bidders.

... i've been a seller for many many years on ebay and over those years i've learned alot of tricks to selling. One trick that isn't used that often anymore but used to be used quite alot in the first years ebay started was....
When you have a very common or average item and say for example there are 10 more identical to it up for auction that sell for maybe an average of say $20.... you can sometimes get alot more bids and alot higher price by purposely downplaying your item. What i mean is that you purposely put it in a different catagory or word it differently so that when a couple potential buyers do happen to stumble across it.... they think they found "one that no one else has seen or know about"
Example i'm selling a rare Helix boombox and there are a few others on ebay. I might put it in the shortwave radio catagory instead of the boombox catagory and purposely describe it as "nice old portable halix ghetto plaster boombox"
It's risky to do that but with a common average item,risks often pay
