Hi, I own an AiwaHS-J300 stereo FM/AM stereo Radio cassette recorder...do you know where I can get more info on this? It has been in it's case since the '80s and the radio is great but the cassette doesn't work anymore. Know where I could get the manual for this? It was fabulous in it's day.

Even in death some of its parts could have been useful to a desperate J300 owner.
I'm not a J300 owner however.

I wouldn't know off the top of my head, might be possible to work it out if you took a photo of the tape mech and upload it here.

Just got an AIWA HS-J300 in pristine cosmetic condition. Very minimal wear. Probably has a bad belt and the tuner doesn't tune. Should be a fun project.

I realize this has been here awhile but this the scoop on the j300, the belt is a 8.6in belt from (TURNTABLENEEDELS.COM) and it's the same belt for the ( aiwa hs-j2,hs-jo2,hs-to2 and hs-j300 and it's the same layout. If anyone has a really nice (hs-t02 or a hs-j300 and as long as the radio works I am interested in buying at reasonable price,I can fix the belt. hope this helps. COOPER.

It going to need new capacitors, work on quite a few of those, all with the same issues. Problem is where the capacitors are located and like to eat traces by the IC and is a dual layer board, Plus to change the belt is not easy on that model.
