The 909 has a lovely plastic feel to it. Also has dual heads too. Not my cuppa tea really.

By the time you decided to want to sell it, I found another one. Plus your price was way out there, for over 350 euro's.

He talking about the M909 microcassette recorder he try selling to me. That I decided in the end, not to buy from him, as he won't come down from the 390 euro? Plus I had to buy some test equipment, which was more important at the time.

Not here guys, this needs to be discussed privately between yourselves.
So, back to the question, does anyone know if Sony made a walkman with a AM receiver?

Wasn't there loads of AM/FM Walkmans? I just searched Google Images for 'AM/FM Sony Walkman' and it showed me loads, or are these AM mono only?

That uses the two head design, looks interesting, to bad it made out of plastic. Just wonder if one will ever show up on eBay and what decoder standard they used, I heard one of the side loading ones had this like the FX3 had AM stereo?

Sony WM-FX2
TV/FM-AM STEREO (marked as AM Stereo in two places on the walkman)
"AM is mono only"
AM stereo WAS available, it was very limited with most stations broadcasting in mono AM. From memory one of the last AU station to broadcast AM Stereo stopped a couple of years back, it was a Sydney station

Add the WM-FX1 (EX1 with radio) on the list.

Now have to find those, did had a FX1, but sold it a while ago, as it was missing the wired remote and wasn't in that great of condition. Thanks for reminding me, I remember one of them had that feature, looking to get a Sony walkman that have the "AM stereo" feature, just to see how it compare to aiwa's lineup with that feature. Sad that AM stereo never took off as tuners were very expensive and with AM stereo their wasn't really a standard. FCC should have forced manufactures who made FM stereo radios to include AM Stereo, or force Motorola to give up tier patent so any company could have made decoder chips. FCC finally did officially choose C-Quam as the standard in 1993, but it was too late because by then, many AM stations were switching to talk formats by then.
