I saw that, has to be shill bidded, or some a##hoe seller bidding up on purpose, so they can sell theirs and end up not paying for it. No serious collector, or bidder, is going to bid it that high that early.

Actually looks like it may be genuine bidding too but I get Retrodos's point. And not even a first gen either! Any takers as to the final bid price? Will it break the 4 fig barrier? My guess is £825...

Well to me it is way over priced, but then I am not a collector.
Every Walkman I have, I have them because I use them. Personally I don’t see the point in collecting stuff like this, they are meant to be used. To have them and look at it in a glass case, how boring is that just my opinion. It’s like having money but never spending it, but just counting it.

Other sellers bid on this to bring the value up on their own stuff, or to attract bidders to their own listing. Pretty sure this seller is just trying to be honest and sell it, had it happen to me, reason why I don't do auctons anymore, as this happen more then once!!
I do have tricks for them? As I will just have a friend, or another ghost account and contact the winner saying I was bidding on the same auction, that I notice you won and will pay a higher price for it, if you are willing to sell it and two out of three time it worked the scumbag bidder paided for the item after a week of non payment and not answering email, thinking he was going to sell it at a higher price and left positive feedback.
I don't know why this trick works, as eBay cover the bidders ID, but usually works, showing some people are not very bright!!

I have had sellers contacting me before trying to sell me something I came second in as a second chance offer because the winner did not pay. But the contact has been so quick after the auction that I suspect the seller had been bidding it up. I just don’t reply to them.

Anytime you get a seller that contact you a day after the auction for second chance offer and when auction ended at a higher price then normal? Report them, eBay does suspend them for shill bidding, wish they would do that for non-paying bidders, like they use to.

That never happens and I sold alot of NIB's in the pass, the seller a scammer, report the listing, as I am going to do. It not even the first revision of this model without the walkman logo. And no serious bidders going to bid that early, that high. He using a spoof account, or family members, or friends bidding it up. He not very bright, as he did it to early both times?
