So, you thought the Aiwa HS-M2 was the smallest

The Aiwa HS-M2 has always held the holy grail status of being the smallest walkman ever. Sony have tried and tried with their more recent M950 & M909 models but nobody got quite as minute as the M2....or did they?
Now, I've known of the Sanyo Micro Talk Book for a few years but have never seen one in the flesh until today when the postman came.
Folks, I give you the Sanyo TRC6000 & based on overall volume (WxHxL) I can confirm that it's smaller than the Aiwa, in fact, a lot smaller.

Superb! Amazing condition too. How does it sound and compare with the Aiwa?
radio.raheem - 2012-07-10 08:46
yes that looks alot nicer than the aiwa

To be fair, they are different tools. The Aiwa was designed as a stereo playback mini walkman from a time when some manufacturers, namely Aiwa and Sony were trying to re-market the microcassette as a leisure music based medium whilst on the other hand the Sanyo is aimed as an executive dictation machine for James Bond business types to jot down ideas whilst on that midnight flight to Odessa.
They both sound quite good, the Aiwa is strangely listenable for music and the Sanyo, though not great for music as it's highs are adjusted for spoken word still competes with much larger units.
