The brochure was printed 11/82. I agree, the quality and design of these portables are amazing.

It really is a significant achievement. Only 3 years previously the TPS-L2 tentatively rolled of the production line to great applause. Of course success was not guaranteed (this was the birth of a whole new concept). F FW just 3 years and Sony have developed the DD series and the ubiquitous reference grade WM D6C. No wonder they stole the show. Right up until Steve Jobs had an idea...

What an awesome glimpse of the early dominance by Sony.  They really had a impressive line up for only 3 years into a new product.  Thanks for such a great post.

beutiful designs there lads....im going back in time to assasinate steave jobbs......ipod worst invention ever....sound crap and the touch sceen is awful.....i thought all touchscreen was bad untill i bought the new portable ps3 (ps vita) totallly love it......sombody wipe out apple for god sake.....i would feel totally different if there stuff was actually any good
