Brand New Sony WM-10 Never Used

dmata10 - 2012-11-08 18:26

Here is the e-bay auction number:  160918456281

I put in a max bid of $265.  Does any one think that it is worth any more?  It does seem to be in perfect unused condition.  The seller says that he is the original owner.  I am tempted to put in a max bis of $300 just so it can go along with my WM-W800, which is also unsed, still in the box.

I wish you had made that offer direct to the seller PRIOR to placing your bid requesting a direct paypal based buy now closure. $265 with 5 days left is a bad indication...it creates a false sense of anxiety, the seller becomes a bit more uptight and the typical 'must have male reflex' kicks in amidst the competition with everyone thinking it is just $10 more to make it theirs.

I'd predict a final price of $317 or something vague like that based on the current scenario . I would snipe you in the last 5 seconds had I really wanted it with a 'odd number' like that to break normal 'rounded off' anticipated high bids like 250/300/.

Stereo2go being an open forum, has as its current biggest advantage, a number of lurking sellers and seller wannabes who gauge the pulse of collectors here

I dont want this 160918456281 Sony.

I think the prise come more expensive than $350.
Because it is the golden version.
Only that he not do shipping Worldwide, is not good for price.

Golden version?  What is so special?

renzgi - 2012-11-09 01:56

The WM10  was to have in versions silver-red, silver-blue and gold-blue.
The golden WM-10 is in champagne color . Not really special, but very popular.

dmata10 - 2012-11-09 10:06

I have a couple of them that work fine, but having one brand new never used is what makes it special.

I really dont believe them ( brand new never used ) - Cause they opened it played it ( dont work ) and put it back into the package.

Long time ago, I bought one with matching serial number to the box... didn't work WM-F10 - radio did but the cassette needs a belt.  ( suckered ) .... never again ....

I'll stick to the one's that ( they dont know what they have or how to make it play ) and hope to get lucky ( a working or repairable one ) for less $$

Holy Crap!  The final price was $428.  That's alot of money, but I guess someone is happy.

Reason you never state your final price, or ever bid before last 5 seconds, especially on a forum that has particular interest on the item your bidding on. You just end up starting bid wars, also give the chance for a dishonest seller to "shill bid" their listiing. Best not to bring unwanted attention to it at all.

Well said, just what I was thinking especially as S2G has more visitors than ever before it seems...

Unfortunately, this is right.  I used to 'out' interesting auctions on this site but sadly it only invites unwanted attention to possible members 'secret' finds.  Nothing gets the excitement going more than a seemingly legitimate early high bid.

A word of advice to all, if you see an auction which you think will go entertainingly high then don't post it, chances are you'll only annoy other members.

The exception being poorly listed auctions which deserve exposure.

Perhaps we should make  a sticky post about this Cris. It's sound advice

Seems fair and I would also include that if you find an interesting auction that you PM only the interested parties here on S2GO if you know they're looking for that particular model.

Agreed that this should be a sticky

A big part of the fun of collecting for me is to find a high valued Walkman for next to nothing. I LOVE creeping the "Buy it Now" section of eBay and then POUNCING on the neophyte who is listing a $200 Walkman for $29.00 !!!

I just got a (mostly) working WM D3 in really nice condition for $29.00 (& $5.00 shipping)

YEAH BABY !

In fairness that last one had the dreaded "clicking" sound. If Tim's doesn't, he won the lottery!

Regardless a D3 for under 30.00...I'd take that anyday!
