Aiwa HS-JX303

My beloved has bought me a boxed JX-303 for Christmas. Can't wait to get my hands on it. She doesn't get the whole walkman thing, but I persuaded her.

I had one of these when I was in my teens. I done farm work when I was on my school holidays and saved up for one. I remember I paid 300 Irish pounds at the time. A standard walkman was about thirty pounds back then. So it was big bucks. I eventually sold it, and bought a JX-2000. I still have that JX-2000 to this day.

It wasn't this one by any chance?

Good catch. I take it you (your missus) made the seller an offer of money they couldn't refuse.

Yes. A fair price was paid. Was not cheap, but worth it me thinks!

The JX303 is a really cool walkman. I love it. I have mine serviced and fully working, and it's wonderful.

The RX30 is indeed a rare beast. Not my cup of tea, otherwise I would have snapped one up ages ago.

How should we call the asian version ? I just have received one today but the printing is a bit erased so i can't see its name. JX-303 or JX-30 ? This new one seems to have is olds caps still good and it sounds amazingly good unlike my old 303 that had so many caps problems , restored since but didn't retrieved a so good sound than it had before.
