Marantz PMD201

I've started adding Marantz PMD Units to my collection, most of them are somewhat larger than a traditional player and closer to a boombox but the PMD201 is just a hair larger than the early personal players. These units have a highly regarded history used by several professions and Marantz actually made black look cool. This unit has tone and pitch control, record level, VU meter, RCA in and out and a telephone in and out (CIA approved?). and a built in speaker and mic.

It's a nice unit, but I prefer the stereo one: the PMD430. It's a very nice small deck that offers pretty good features often found in high quality decks: three heads, Bias calibration, dbx...

The PMD430 is on my radar, very nice unit, it seems the footprint is identical to the 201. The 201 seems to be the budget model, my larger units are 3-head stereo.

Yeah, it's the same design, but stereo.
Here are some photos of mine:
@Agent: I see the tool for uploading pictures is now different. Looks good...

I'd love to know what the history of these are, mine are all made in Japan, one of the older, and larger, units is "SUPERSCOPE By marantz." I feel like Marantz had three different owners in the time period these were made but they all seem high quality including the metal casing on the smaller units.
