New project......

Today a new project arrived... Spindles aren't turning and it has a loud motor hum.. But is does play music with a cassette mp3 player... Its pretty mint, except a small thing on the battery cover...
Would it be possible to find a mint battery cover for it? Think these are pretty rare?...

These and any other 'rare model's, are 'the one that you don't have yet'
Finding a Battery cover by it'self? Doubtful
Your battery cover simply has character - with the mark or divit?

a. Does your's have the Pin's for a tuner module?
b. Does your's have ' ISS '?

Thanks for the links! Found the one from retrodos, but the other ones are good info too! Yes, it has the combined Dolby/Iss switch and the six connectors in the play deck. The door is closed, no opening in it. Looks exactly as yours I think. Seems like these are not so rare after all.. Even I got one haha..
Did you try the radio module in yours? Did it work?
I never have had a 'radio' module with the One that I have that has the 'pin's for the insert, so I don't know...

The radio module must be rare than, could not find much about it. Even with google...
But I first have to fix her for playing cassettes.... There must be some wrong elcos in it or something... When I kill the motor with the pause switch she sounds great.... Otherwise I got a very loud amplified motor hum....

Nope I've got a load of Walkmans to repair, but most of my time is sucked up by boomboxes....

Rare is what you do not have! Great point! However, the Sony CTP-1A tuner pack actually is rather RARE! Only sold on the Japan Domestic Market, and only with Some models! Here is a good look at one of these!

Nah, these were available across europe too hence the 76-106 mhz range, japan was 76-90 mhz. My brother actually bought one from Rumbellows in the 80's.

I did get this information according to the service manual. There is very little mention of the CTP-1a tuner pack itself. I have noticed that there are 5 different models or versions of the same player.US,CANADIAN,AEP,UK,and E. Only the E model had the necessary contacts for this tuner pack.
