I am the original owner and have been wanting for some time to resurect this awesome player. The door does no longer lock and as a result does not want to power up.

I have both the original internal battery that when i plug in the wall with the charger the light is green but my guess is the battery is dead? I have the adapter battery but I think I left and old AA battery in it years ago and it leaked. If that is the case does that mean the  adapter will no longer work? I think the problem has more to do with the door not being able to close properly with or without a tape in it. I have just discovered that this is a highly sought after player so I am wondering where one goes to get older walkmans repaired? I live in toronto and would appreciate any help
