Hi all,
I've just bought one of these and can't find much information about it. Can anyone please assist?

thanks heaps,
I was just hoping for general information such as year of manufacture etc, and any comments on its relative quality compared to other models in the px line. I read that the quality of the px line deteriorated after the Sony takeover, but I wasn't sure to what extent.
So far it sounds good and the only issue is odd issues with the remote, although I'll use my own headphones.
Yes the battery does seem to be a paperweight which is a real shame considering its quality and being a long play 600 battery. Is there really no way to revive these batteries and no commercial replacement?

Thanks again,
I've had the battery on a multimeter tonight and it is showing around 1.5volts of charge. Its been inside the walkman and the walkman has been connected to the mains through the charging cord for a couple of days.
Does this mean that I have a chance of getting this battery back to full 2v charge? Is there another type of charger that I could buy that might give me a better chance of acheiving that?
I had also bought a Sony WM-R707 that turned up in the mail yersterday and at this stage I prefer the Aiwa for its nice clean lines (and its in mint condition) so I'm really keen to get the Aiwa fully functional.

I've been doing a lot of research into the Aiwa battery issue, and it seems there may be an issue with the contact points within the player not allowing for proper recharge of the battery - has anyone experimented with recharging the battery with other methods, including through direct connection to the DC charger?
