Talking of greed; there were a couple of boxes that turned up on ebay a couple of weeks ago; Sharp 9494 and Sanyo M-X920 and they were 99p starts and after a couple of days they were at about a tenner each with 4 days to go. They were ended and went back on with £220 and £375 BIN.
Tosser. He will be keeping them.

I have come across many people who behave like this. My bids cancelled so they can re-list them with high reserves or bin’s. It is quite disappointing.

You know why this happens? People who shall remain nameless messaging sellers for buy-it-now prices only for the seller to smell the money, do a bit of research then get greedy.

I guess so Cris, and to an extent they may find our site and get an idea of demand from us.
For the record Mr Tosser;
GF9494; If it's really nice and fully working it might be worth £100 to £120 on a great day. Not rare at all.
Sanyo 920; More rare and certainly a desirable box; it's not worth any more than £200 though. Fully working and tip top.

How much would you say the Sharp GF-9090 and 9191 are worth?

Hiya Reno, My M-70 is on hold at the mo, till I get those nice new volume sliders! Your M-90 is one of the best I have seen in recent times, wipes the floor with any of those on ebay, and you know it works, and your friends pored a lot of time and love into it! Some things are worth more than money mate! I'm not planning on selling the M-70 even if I restore it to being top notch. I want to enjoy it. I can't say I like the fact that these machines command so much money; I mean £1500 is a hell of a lot of money, you could get a decent Nakamichi CR-7 or Dragon for half that! (or a usable car!) But can I blame people for wanting to make a profit? Well no, times are hard and if they can get that sort of money I don't blame them. It is out of my league, I would never pay that much for a radio, even though I love them! I could blame the lucky few who have pockets deep enough to push the prices up, but hey it’s their money! So where does that leave the rest of us? In my opinion it leaves us with a few challenges. The first is to find one of these grails in the wild, the second is to find which cheaper, rather less sort after radios are just as good. And the third; well I suppose that is to get a cut price beater and try and make it good. Not an ideal situation but it does make life interesting!

look at this one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/York...;hash=item4acbfb32e6
then take note of the minor issues:
1. no handle
2. no power cord
3. tape deck will not start
4. radio works just fine, however the volume controls do have a little crackling and sometimes need a little jump start to get going
5. antenna is a little stiff

Hey there is free shipping though! I had to contact the guy selling the 12,000 dollar Walkman, I can't wait until he responds! broken headphones, repairable, then repair them if you are asking that kind of money.

Replay from the 12,000 Walkman guy:
thanks for taking the time to respond. as you see with other items people list a buy it now price that seems rediculous, but thats because they cant find an actual number of the value. The buy it now price should be irrelivant, thats why its an auction and you have the ability to bid.
The unit has never really been used it was turned on a few times, but couldnt list it as new for that very reason. as indicated the headphone came broken, its really the earpiece that has popped out of the case, but again i didnt want to glue it back.
Thanks for your input
