funny, one-sided, and totally missing the point

There's no joy in today's electronics. A bag of batteries and tapes, was a right of passage.

The boy should be made to live with a Gramaphone (with Mechanical Winder/Trumpet Horn) for another week to realize the advancement in technologies.

Still the Gramaphone wins on these points over a walkman or mp3 player

- Gramaphone doesn't need any electrical power at all!

- Visually skip or jump to middle of any track!

- No button or control to play with!

- Piracy of music is nearly impossible!

The blog posts that followed the main article were better than the article itself! Nice one, very interesting!

All very good points! The Gramophone was the grandad of it all! Life was simpler then,no stereo sound, no gadgets and gizmos, just the music! (plus a few scratches and crackles !)

He is way too young to care about the quality of the sound.  Plus not the best walkman to use give that boy a WM-D99 or and Aiwa HS-PX1000 now that is some fun!
