I am currently using 2 of the above sonys. These were offered to me free and as new so could not pass them up! I have been using Aiwa and Panasonic chargers (250mA 175mA output respectively) as these were already owned from other Walkman purchases. Will these be OK long term? And does any one know the output from an equivalent Sony device?
I've got one from my F100, I'll check when I get home.
Thanks GP. Any other board members thoughts on these batteries are welcomed
SONY
Ni-Cd BATT CHARGER BC-7
INPUT AC 120V 60Hz 3W
OUTPUT DC 1.2V 66mA
Blimey. That's about 1/4 of the rate of my Aiwa! Hope that won't damage the batteries long term...may look out for a Sony one on eBay.
Hey Nak, I have a Sony GC-9HU wall charger US says output DC 1.2 V 1.9 A so dont think your Aiwa will cause any problem. On Front says Ni-MH
Charge only NH-9WM and NC-6WM I dont think the NH-14WM was out yet when this charger was made explains why that model battery not listed. Sadly I do not remember the model walkman it came with.
There is a post on here cant remember topic but the output in MA or A there is formula that tells you the length of time depending on mAh of battery and output of charger. The charger I have has red light that goes off when charged automatically so you cant overcharge.
FOUND the info filed on my computer here ya go.
Litfan:
The formula of an rechargeable battery capacity ,charging time and current is:
Hour(s)=1.6 X battery capacity(MaH)/charging current(Ma)
Say, You have a fully discharged 1600MaH Ni-cad battery, charging current is 200Ma, So, It will take you about 1.6X1600/200=12.4 Hours.
this is for what it is worth..i have 8 gumstick batteries ranging from 600 mAh to 1400 mAh. i have about 25 rechargeable AA and 10 AAA. that's alot of batteries. i have 7 or 8 chargers also. i don't think i have messed up a battery yet. i just use good sense and read the labels.
