Hi, I have a aiwa TP-80 cassette recorder in mint condition. Problem is, when the batteries are inserted the Lcd lights up for maybe 5 seconds then goes dead. Tried everywhere to get it serviced, but no joy. Anyone any ideas? Cheers.
Sounds like a battery issue, although it's always possible it's something else. Try several types of battery and also via the mains AC power. Check battery contacts too as these can become corroded and/or dirty.
