Thanks For all that reply and have helped me in the past/present...As it seems all my Walkmans have needed help and repair.
I just won an auction for a Sony WM-504 and I have two questions before I have even received it in the mail!
Question I:
I was told by the seller the Belt (as he called "motor belt") is gone....therefor I need a new/replacement WM-504 Belt....Can anyone help or have one for sale? and additionally is there any other Wlakmans that use the same belt, as this can make finding and getting one easier.
Question II:
The Seller also said it did not work, he claimed when he tried to use the rechargeable battery (after charging), the Light occasionally came on, and that he did not have a new battery to test it with. So I'm assuming (maybe hoping) that the Rechargeable battery he had was old and did not properly hold a charge anymore. Therefor I need a new rechargeable NI-CAD battery, What NI-CAD battery did the WM-504 use? I'm hoping the same as my WM-F203, even if it does I still want/need a new NI-CAD battery for this Walkman, can any one help or has info?
Thanks!

as far as i know you can use any gumstick in a cassette player that it will fit into. generally, the only exception is the aiwa's, which used a bunch of assorted lead-acid batteries, the whole thing boils down to making sure you are using 1.2 volts. i put a live sony n/c battery in any player i want to. it says 600MaH and is a NC-6WM 1.2V...i have a few dead ones with much lower mAh. a couple of months ago somebody had some "new" nick-cad. on ebay for around 10.00. i guess the 1450 nic.m/h would work fine. i have a iriver slimX cd player. it uses 2 gumsticks. i try to use the same batteries in those but as far as most cassette players go it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I need a new belt (replacement) for my WM-504, urgent can anyone help?
did you try the partstore.com and typing in the model number to see if they still carry it. if not try seeing if they cross-reference it with another player. it's not uncommon for alot of the same brand players to use the same belt. i have a sony remote that works in several different models although not perfectly. it's better than no remote at all. they want 94.00 plus shipping for a new one.

I did try partstore.com, they have no parts or belts for this one and no cross-ref for belt. I do know the belt is longer than the ones in the WM-100's.
