Mysterious Aiwa HS-PX303

tuna - 2009-11-07 07:56

Does anyone have any information of Aiwa HS-PX303, or even better, a picture of it? From what I know so far, it is an auto reverse machine with an hx amorphous head, dolby b and c system and a parametric dsl equalizer. Any help would be appreciated as I am not that familiar with Aiwas.

Wow man that's it! It looks really cool to me. I wish it had a tuner. I was sure it had one but I was wrong. Does it have a bbe system?

Are there any more pics available? A user manual maybe?

The manuals can be quite hard to find-as Sony (the currrent owner of Aiwa) doesn't even have on their website-and most Aiwa websites have closed.

I know... but that is part of the reason I like this stuff. But seriously, these things are hard to find. I cannot find a single aiwa pb3 battery I need.

hi tuna...mabey some day this web site could post a list of aiwa numbers that use the lead-acid batteries and the exact battery that is needed for it. doesn't there have to be at least 20-30 models some with different batteries. do you know what the advantage was supposed to be with them as opposed to the nimh or nicd ? i never heard the why of it......

I really don't know. Lead is poisonous and is generally avoided in batteries today. Judging by the specs, nimh batteries are far more eco-friendly and offer higher capacity. I really don't know why Aiwa used lead-acid, maybe that's all they could make or maybe they thought they were better in some way.

Anyway, if someone here has a px303 here, post some of your pics. Does anybody know what other models use pb3 battteries?

let me at least list the one i own. the aiwa PX557 uses a pb-s5a lead-acid battery. it can use also 2-aaa in a sidecar. the guy that sold it to me said up till 3 months before he sold it you could put a good charge into it. he said that lack of use killed it.
