I'm glad I dould help you out. I really did try to repair it but the pcb was not working properly and I think some of the chips was malfunctioning as it just played the tape for 1sec, then fast forwarded, then payed again and then fast forwarded and so on. Very puzzling. Both units were in bad shape when I got them so I basically took the parts that were good and put them in the better of the two. The mechanism were okay but one of them was missingseveral pins and I knew I couldn't fix that kind of a damage. But it is funny how both units are the same - it is the pcb that makes a bit of difference. The gears and motors were in perfect order as I could see. No corrosion and a reasonably clean. I'm sorry you couldn't fix the SX33 as it has an lcd remote control with backlight which I like. I sent you all the parts and everything I got for these two units.

And no, MrDR2000 is absolutely right. the units were in pieces literally! If I had time, I would have put them together but you would disassemble them again anyway. I cannot believe you managed to repair one of them!!

The biggest proble to me was the lid. Both had broken holders on the door so I used the parts i had and figured at least I could get one done.

I also hope you will find the belts I sent you useful.

SX3 is definitely one of the better panasonics. It has a tape stabilizer inside that uses some kind of rubberizer material. Also. Everything seems standard panasonic but not quite. Though it is a non-lcd remote control unit, it has the "live" eq setting, repeat, blank skip and even cue option. It is very impressive. Has same 25x high speed access as the SX33. It is probably one of the best modern players made by Panasonic, regardless of it's apparent lack of style or glamour. It is a hhidden beast actually and I am bery glad you fixed it and now finally someone can enjoy it! Congradulations!
