Never buy "Need belts units on eBay " look at the crap solder job this guy did, the other two units beyond repair due to very bad corrosion
I ask the guy if these were ever repair, he said no all they needed was belts that they were in good condition, the first two units are in bad shape water damage and acid all over the units. the Aiwa maybe the only one I can save.

After
Did get unit to work tranport now works still not get any audio on left channel?
Have to do some clean up still have to removed and resolder where the battery acid was.
Ouch, we should put that seller on watch cause I was burned by him too!
I won a Sony WM-504 from him and he said the walkman needed repair and it had no belt. But when I got it I could tell it had been opened (for possible failed repair) and the belt was there, horribly melted everywhere! it was like tar and the motor would not even spin. It took along time to clean the belt (that was said to not exist) and even though I cleaned it and installed another belt, it still will not play properly, just constant high amounts of wow & flutter.
I can't seem to get it to work at all?
Sorry to hear you have had the same experience from this seller, I think he just botches repairs and sells them by not disclosing the real condition!
While I agree he did a piss poor job solder, that isn't corrosion, that is flux and is easily removed with flux cleaner. But as always, it is buyer beware.
Wow I'm sorry! But the Aiwa looks great! And no wonder it sounds good as it has an amorphous head!

lot of it was flux clean that up already but by the battery area was acid left over that he try cleaning up, also clean it off with baking soda and vinegar, then unsolder and resolder almost every point.
sounds like a bad deal all around. That sucks.
I did fixed the Aiwa and the Pansonic servo motor was used in a Panasonic RQ-S80,just won't buy any more units from this seller again, not sure yet if a negative feedback will be left?

ebay seller - yerrmanbid ( 213 )
260502899262 Item location: Bangkok, baungkum, Thailand
ok just keep outlook in used/fixed thailand walkmans
I would rather do the repairing myself or entrust it another Walkman collector, as you know they would take care over what needs to be done and not be in a hurry to just get it listed on eBay.
Irreparable damage can be done in the wrong hands!
