i am wondering if the sony sports f-75 models are the conventional or direct drive? i have a couple that should have belts that are way past being shot ? when i listen closly it even sounds like the direct drive motor noise. there is no evidence of belt slippage. they are also very heavy like an wm-f5. they are also assembled with the screw holes plugged. does anyone know the answer ?
The WM-75 and radio version WM-F75 are belt driven they are heavy because they use a high quality mostly metal mechanism.

thanks so much for the answers. they are just a good example of how well one can be built. they are a cut above the typical sound for the time.
