Aiwa TP-80

Greeting to all. Here is my problem. I have an Aiwa TP-80 cassette player. The problem with it is this, the player has an Lcd display which stays lit for maybe 30 seconds when batterys are placed in it. Then dead as a dodo. The player is mint and boxed. Looks like its never been used. Anyone know what the problem with it could be. I don't think it is mechanical issue. Seems to be an issue regarding the power.
It would be nice if i could have it fixed. Cheers.

Etheir bad surface mount capactors which is shorted or voltage regulator. Is it just the LCD display or the player doesn't function?

Thank you DrMR2000. The player is totally dead after the Lcd display goes out. Do you know of anyone who could fix it for me. I brought it to a repair center and the guy looked at it like it was a stone tablet. He then told me to buy an ipod. Some people eh!

This guy did a couple of SW radio's for me a couple years ago, but pretty sure if you have service manuel for the walkman or can obtain one, he probably will recap it, he charges about $120 with the parts. Well worth the cost considering the work involved, doesn't hurt to asked.
