hi just thought I'd quiz you guys see if your knowledge is king ,I have just got hold of a wmex808hg and I was wondering if anyone knows if the body on these machines is made of metal or is it a chromed over plastic.... just very curious ,I believe they are anniversary machines so maybe they are metal but I'm not sure I can't really tell, any ideas? ...cheers

I have a WM-808HG it is metal body both front and back. Very nice player. You will like using it. The only plastic is the battery door is chromed plastic not metal.

From a Japanese web site. EX808 was produced 1993, not an anniversary model. Have to be 1989 or 1994 Walkman anniversary dates 1984, 1989, 1994 (EX1HG) and last was 1999 ( WM-EX20 world's thinnest Walkman and very rare WM-WE01 wireless Japan release only) 20th anniversary. The WM-EX5 mirrored beauty was the 50th anniversary of Sony the Corporation 1996.
