I just obtained a Walkman DC2 that needs some work. Would it be possible for you to email it to sansuigear<at>yahoo.com ?

I'd like to get this unit working. It has the "click of death" syndrome and doesn't rewind. Otherwise, the unit is in excellent shape. I hesitate to start "surgery" without the SM!

please let me enter the club. I'm waiting for my first (!) genuine "Walkman" (after one Kenwood and one Aiwa), a DC2 with 'cyclical tick' syndrome. So I'll have to deal with that center gear as well.

I ask how you fix broken gear in the dc2? Repaired or replaced the broken piece with a new one? The replacement is no longer available in Italy. I have always modified the broken piece in such a way that will not break anymore. You do the same? Do you have any news on the existence of a version of this gear made by sony so that will not break any more?

I don’t repair them don’t know how to, but i have been removing the gear from DD33’s and using them in the DC2's.

I have been lucky that renzgi has repaired some for me cool guy renzgi.

Seems to be so many with this problem, it must almost be worth have a limited run of parts made!

Emailed you the Service Manual. Also a link to what I found to be a useful pictorial guide to getting in to these Walkmans for gear repairs.

A fellow (timkroeger) over at Tapeheads.net provided this link to a Service Manual for the DC2. It is an excellent scan of the manual and has MUCH better readability and resolution than the one I have. Anyone who has a copy of the one that has been circulated here should go download it. It's super!

Well, it looks like the Service Manual has been removed for some reason. I have it and will upload it to my file sharing site but can't get to it for a little while. Will post the link soon as possible.
