Sony WM-3 belt replacement

minty - 2010-06-08 06:21

Greetings all. Maybe someone can help me out. I have just got belts for my wm-3. I have opened the player up, but replacing the belts looks complicated. I have just changed the belts on my 701s with ease. This one is not as simple. Anyone changed the belts on one of these. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. P.S. Brazil for the world cup!

So, i have figured this one out. The key i think, is patience. These things just take time, and an organised work area. While the belts were a lot more difficult to replace than on the 701s, they are relatively easy to change. They just take more time.

Anyway, i'm really happy to have given these old boys a new lease of life. And the sound from the wm-3 is incredible.

i've explained it a couple of years ago. i did it almost 100 % with the only thing not working is the microphone. i'm glad you figured it out and patience and observation are the keys. i just last night figured out how the door comes off so i'm still learning too. i still have the microphones and when i get ambitious i will soldier them in. most of the time the motor is locked up,,was your's. some day we are going to all get on the same page and see what is the easiest way to do it. until then,,,,congratulations from rerooted.

Thanks my friend. No, the motor on mine was fine. I don't think it was used very often. It was playing a cassette, just very slowly. It is a fine player indeed. I got a good bargain in this one. Its condition is spotless.
