Handy set-up freeware - scope, FFT and sig gen

Afternoon all.

I was having a trawl across the net a while ago for some freeware which might offer a little more than the free version of Rightmark Audio Analyser, and came across Visula Analyser.

This has a scope, FFT and sig gen, and will make use of the maximum sampling frequency of your soundcard too (unlike the free RMAA, which is locked to 44.1kHz max). Looks as if it should be very handy for setting up cassette decks, and by extension, walkmans.

An initial look at an Aiwa AD-F880 shows that it's not doing badly at all in terms of frequency extension, though azimuth looks as if it's off slightly (either that or the channel balance is maladjusted somewhere). This shot shows combined record/play response on this three-head machine with a chrome tape at about -8dB).

I'll try and dig out the url and post it here.

Cheers, Jon.

This is the main download site, but you can get it elsewhere too.

Cheers, Jon.
