Hello,
I just recently taped a show with my d3 and when I got home and played it back the tape sounds distorted. The last time I used it was a few months ago and it worked fine. The heads were cleaned and the tape was new. When I was trying to figure out the problem, I was recording and monitoring the recording with the headphones. It was distorted when It was recording but when I tapped on the deck the sound all of a sudden became perfect again. Could the heads be out of allignment and if so does ant one know any body that can fix this. Thanks in advance.
Rich
When you say distorted, does the music sound like it's breaking up, or does it sound like the treble is muffled?
The treble is muffled, it sounds a bit choppy and has a bit of an echo.
Thanks, Rich
Could be head misalignment, but I suspect it might be the head is magnetized. You might find and use a head demagnetizer first, then see if the symptoms crop up again.

Thank you, I'll give it a try.
