The motor shaft is coupled to the drive pulley with some like "rubber" head or is coupled by gears?

looks like a TECHNICS turntable I have, and the motor is coupled by a small gear box.

Yes, a fantastic system, in the past I supposed it is an exclusive system offered by SONY in the first Walkmans, but one day I discover a rare vintage PANASONIC much older than first SONYs that have the same DISC DRIVE SYSTEM.

Ahh, this brings shivers up my spine & to think it came out in 1981.

Yes, there's a tiny rubberised drive wheel transferring rotation to the main drive not unlike the Panasonic you refer to above. You'd think the wow, flutter, shake etc would be incredible but combine a weighty flywheel with very soft motor suspension which forces the drive to be tight at all times & the result is a very consistent system.

You should take a look inside the DC2, the large triangular cavity you see in the above pic is stuffed with Dolby C circuitry.
