I have looked over many posts on belts some are pretty old and links no good now. I am going to try my first repairs of my collection. Have a orig. WM-5 service manual for starts. Can anyone post the exact belts each of my models needs , how many for each and where to buy them. Possibly cost idea or if member has PM me. My great thanks to a great forum.
PS. Just acquired a DC2 with no center gear crack. WOOHOO cant wait but oh the pain of paying for it
try contacting doc p from india to see if he is still in the belt business. he did have alot of belts at great prices. he has been very helpful with info and belts on this forum.
i get some from there also. if no luck at the partstore try turntableneedles.com. tps-l2 takes the same belts as the wm-3. i think the wm-5 is a direct drive but i never messed with one so i am not sure. sometimes on ebay there are people selling groups of mixed sizes of belts. i fixed 3 players with a small batch i bought and still have 7 misc. sizes left. did doc p not get back to you ? he has some i couldn't get at the other places.
Thank you all for helping. I have been traveling will call places you suggested then what cant find will contact DocP then. He lives in India and deplete his supply if can buy here.
Does anyone know the exact correct size measurements for the four units I mentioned. ALSO what type of lubricant is suggested to use sparingly inside?
JOHN
The WM-3 is mechanically same type as TPS-L2
The WM-5 is mechanically same type as WM-2
The WM-F5 and DC2 is mechanically same type as WM-DD (no belts but problematic gear wheel)

- TPS-L2 and WM-3 needs 47mmX0,8mm / 36mmX0,9mm
- WM-2,WM-R2,WM-F2 and WM-5 needs 45mmX0,8mm
Those are all mass on my experience. These can deviate from the original.
i hope thats help to repair your walkmans!!
