Thanks for posting that service manual Walkgirl. I was going to replace that battery in the rear of the unit but now I relise it's a motor.

Mine is silver and lights up but keeps going backwards and forwards and nothing moves. I've noticed that the belts broke. Where can I get a belt for a wm-7 and an Aiwa hs-j07?

walkgirl - 2008-08-10 11:49

Hello Anndy Smile

Oh, I do not know where you can get a belt?,
I think you better call your sony dealer
or importer!

Lady, if I could fly all the way to Holland, I'd do it and kiss you on the lips!

My WM-7 went belly up, and now you've given me the means to get it back on its feet.

Thanx so much!

Bill

you can order the belts for walkmans from turntableneedles.com which charges $3.00 ea. and a minimium of 2 per order. no shipping charge either. you need to know how to measure them in inches. i have done about a dozen from them with no problems so far. seems to me i may have read on this site that the wm-7 is a wierd belt but i may be dreaming. you will find it does take a bit of practice and patience.
