The person who usually repairs my player can no longer get belts for this model directly from Sony, as their old stock has run out...and I've been warned against trying belts from other manufacturers. But does anyone here have a recommendation for one whose belts have been tested and had good results?
Hi, many Sony models shared the same belts, so there's a good chance some of us might have what you need. Although I'm not too sure how you could tell us but have you any idea what size it is?
A big welcome BTW
Hi,
Welcome and happy mending!
The wm-f65 is a lovely looking model...If I am not mistaken the following models share a common belt size
wm 10/20/30 series including wm w800, wm F15, wm F65.
The current part number for these models is
331540500 available on partstore.
If you face a real belts crisis you can always ask....me

Welcome to the board, L. The good news is that you actually have a person who is willing to service your Walkman. Audio technicians willing to touch those today are hard to find.
If you're inclined, please feel free to mention the shop and location in case others near you need help.
Stereo2go: The shop is called Magnetic Tape and is at 601 Baxter Ave. in Louisville Ky. Phone #: 1-502-587-1848. They are very nice there and will repair almost any vintage audio or video equipment you may have, including record players and VCRs.
DocP: thank you for the information and the link. I'll talk to my repairman and see what he says. Not sure how to tell you the belt size either... I could measure the diameter of the belt perhaps, when I have the Walkman back in my possession. I did find these belts on eBay. Has anyone dealt with the seller?

Contact Doc P. I can assure anyone his belts are tops. So is his service.
