Walkman WM-F200II

My old Walkman which I purchased new has traveled a lot of the world with me, and brought a lot of happiness.    However a while back it died on me.  Finally last year I found a repair person who fixed it and it worked like new again.      I was just starting to type up taped interviews of some Veterans this week for my book, and the 'old gal' quit on me again.    It will work intermittently on the rewind and sometimes on the 'play' and the little green button that activates the 'FWD' and 'REV' is not working nor the REC button.     That one just won't move.    It seems the motor won't kick the gears into place, but when they do it works just fine.  Sometimes it sounds like the motor is running and nothing is happening.  Any one got any ideas of what is wrong.  Is it lack of power, a weak motor, a broken or cracked gear.   I suspect the repair person didn't put the Record button back correctly, as he replaced the switch for the 'Play' button which made the entire unit inoperable last year.   I am using a 115 volt adapter for power rather than a battery so at least I know it has good power in put.

Any suggestions anyone?
