I know its not a walkman but Ive had this since I was a Child and I dug it out and when I put a fresh battery in it didnt work, from looking at it Id say its early 80's going by the styling and that it is AM only.
Ill take a photo and do some investigating in a bit as Ive just got back from work and Im a bit knackerd.

Sadly no but I can however supply a photo of the radio which I just got going, the on/volume switch is a bit dodgey, sound quality is a bit poo but its exactly like I remember.
Now that is a OLD am radio - probally operate's on a 9-volt battery?

Yep, a shop does them at 3 for 99p locally.
It was already old when I got it, I cant have paid more than £2 for it as a child as that was my weekly pocket money, it proberly was something like 50p at a school fete and it kept me amused for a while.
Ive got another piece from my Childhood to repair at some point, its a Walkman thats was licenced by Coca-cola and is made to look like a coke can with the ring pull as the volume switch, sadly its now in 2 pieces so Ive got to fix the wireing and put it back together, possibly with a bodge repair on the plastic hinge.
