I have a SonyWM DD-33 that I am trying to repair. Two problems.

-One if the wires (white one)has become detached from the head

-When you try to play or wind, the motor turns for about 2 seconds then cuts out.

Can anyone please help?

I don't own any Sony dd Walkmans, so therefore I have never opened one. Sounds like the mechanism is jammed perhaps? As regards the loose wire, I'm sure you could fix this easily. Just soften the solder behind the head with a soldering iron and reattach the wire.

Seems CXA1423 IC don't receive a tacho signal, check the coil (tacho located under capstan wheel, and usually connects to PCB with two gray wires).
