My sony dc2 is mad

Hello
I did discover something verry verry odd about my nice sony dc2 walkman,
well, I wanted to play some nice tapes yesterday so I found my nice dc2 in a drawer
somewhere and put new batteries in it and when i pressed play the knob would not
stay put , so I wanted to fast forward and the same thing did happen, also
fast rewind would not stay put
verry odd
So after a while trying and trying suddenly the play knob would stay put and the walkman
started playing like it should with great sound and all
But what I did discover is that probably when the walkman is cold the knobs will not
stay put and when the walkmans gets warmer like I put it on the radiator all is
fine
Does anybody here experiance the same also with a walkman which was not in use
form a longer period of time?

Hello Walkgirl
Do you use the walkman with alkaline battery or rechargeable batteries?
Rechargeable battery can make the problme with DC2 because bring only 1.2 volts.
DC2 is sensitive because the power supply is scarce calculated.

It more like the auto stop lever by the forward take up reel, it made out of pastic when it cracks, it cause the buttons to pop up right away. Picture of the lever is below, that more likely your problem. Could be the lubrication is sticky, reason why the problem may be intermittent
