Hi Everyone,

I hope someone may be able to help me locate the serivice manual or know the correct way of opening my walkman.   I have removed all the visible screws but still cannot ease it out of the casing.  Radio works fine on solar but only hear the motor hum when trying to play a tape.  The belt may have come loose or be worn out given the time i've had it.  I have been gentle as possible with it, Ive seen that the removal of the voume dial is needed on some walkmans but this model has that dial on the opposite half of the casing and not the half containing the tape mechanism.

Any help or advice is welcome,

Thanks, but I did make a mistake, the tuning dial is on the other side not the volume dial as i wrongly stated. I prised it off carefully and found the screw to remove. I have it open and boy has the belt stretched!  I will do as you have kindly advised and contact the Doc for a new belt.

Thanks again for the link, its a great help as one showed the volume dial in better detail as I was trying to raise it without success then found out to pop the top off instead to find the screw lol
