How the repair service works
1. First you have to PM with issue, can talk over private message, or phone
2. Then arrange to have your walkman shipped to me with tracking in a proper box, bigger then the item being shipped to leave room with item in bubble wrap to help prevent transit damage.
3. I will then look at your walkman and give you total cost to repair your
walkman, or if it even worth repair, most time within 2-3 days, may take a week in some cases, due to work or have others line up ahead of you.
4. Most repairs are usually around the $50-$70 USD dollars range unless it's has some more serious issues.
5. Turn around is usually 1-2 weeks in workshop, unless parts are needed to be order, or a donar unit needed to complete repair, as parts are hard to find for some models, due to part are no longer made.
6. Will then shipped back with tracking info, once repair is complete and paid for. If you decide to not have walkman repaired or beyond repair and want it returned, their will be a $25 dollar handling charge, plus cost to ship it back.
7. Customer is responsible for cost of shipping both ways. Insurance is optional but highly recommended for high value walkmans, just incase damage occurs while in transit, as not responsible for damage that occur during transit.
8. 30 days warranty on repair done to your walkman only, no refund on the $25 bucks handling cost or shipping cost, does take time to look at.
9. Payments can be made using, Paypal, check, cashier check, visa, mastercard, or if local then cash, item will be shipped with tracking, once payment has cleared.
10. Not responsible for any damage done during transit to workshop, please use two layers of bubble wrap and box bigger then item being shipped to avoid shipping damage.

Hi Retrodos, I´ve recently bought Sony walkman WM DC2 from ebay with common problem - broken center gear. But somebody had been butchering this unit before sold on ebay and few internal wires coming from battery compartment had been ripped off. So it´s not working with batteries, only with AC/DC power adaptor, but only red battery control shortly flashes and that´s all. I ´m from Slovakia. Would it be possible to send this item to you for repairing service? Please write to me, this is my email adress - xray1978@gmail.com.

Ali:
Can you repair a not working Sony WM-F 55 by replacing the belts?
ali.vossoughi - 2014-04-29 22:56
Wilson: On the Sony WM-F55 if the radio works without a problem, most likely it is the belt, and yes it can be fixed.
Peter: On the cracked center gear on DC2, I've fixed many of those already and they are fixable as well. I do recommend not playing the unit because if the gear is cracked and it keeps catching it may break badly.

Hi Ali
Thanks for your reply.
How do I proceed with the repair of the cracked gear for my DC2?
It also needs attention on the locking lid catch and the battery cover flys off with the slightest movement. Otherwise it is in mint condition!
Peter

This one is harder to find, you may be better off getting a full unit and use the cover for the best unit:
ali.vossoughi - 2014-05-28 07:44
Sony had to change the cover on this model only. This is who I get my covers from, they may be able to help you: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-W...;hash=item418184109e

Hello, I have 4 Sony WM-AF604 units I am interested in getting repaired if possible. None of the cassette players work although I can hear the motors running. The radios tune but they don't sound quite right. At least two are louder in the left than the right. I really want one for myself as I had one when I was a kid and the other three I would like to re-sell, use for parts, trade, or open to suggestion.
Thanks
