This one just needed 3 new belts and good cleaning, as it was a mess, wish I didn't accidently delete the before pictures, was pretty bad, but this is after repairs were made.

I like how it proudly proclaims in red block letters COUNTER INERTIAL FLYWHEEL. Most owners would have no idea what that is.

I thought this too, haha.

So, who can tell us what Counter Inertial Flywheel means?

Have you ever seen this Sony modeled in RED? I'm looking for one. I have a pic posted of it on one of my posts. I want one . I notice that there is a WA-33 with tv band too. I have one from Japan, not marked as a Soundabout, but Stereo, and the fm dial goes as low as 76, not 88 like the rest of the wa'33's.  Hey I need the headphones MDR-7L1 that came with this and I need the strap. Do you know where I can obtain them? Another question, when you bought yours in the box, did it come with the Sony demo cassette tape? I just restored one of my WA-33's and had to replace the tuner board. What a bitch it was to solder the Am antenna in.

What are the specifications of this recorder? (frequency response, output levels)

i have had a few different versions of that nice little micro-mini-boomer -

they looked identical --except one was mono and one was stereo

Counter Inertial Flywheel, I think this may be an aditional flywheel that cancels out the effects of moving the stereo arround when the tape is running. Sometimes it was called "anti rolling device". Means that you could go jogging with this stereo and still enjoy stable music reproduction.
