Older Sony D6 without the C, repaired.

This one had speed issue play to fast and motor didn't shutdown, was cause by bad servo control circuit IC 602, was replaced now works great. You do have to desolder every wire in that area to get to IC packages pins.

Does the TC/WM-D6 use an amorphous or a ferrite head? Both these heads are used in high end recorders due to low-losses on the core (which affects sound quality).

So the D6 uses a ferrite head and the D6C uses an amorphous head?
