Aiwa HS-PX10 Restoration

retrodos - 2012-05-29 20:31

Going to need a new set of capacitors mostly the 220uf 4v and to clean pulleys and transport, due to oxidation and corrosion, ribbon cable to door is in good shape so no broken connections.

After reinstalling the board, did had to replace ribbon cable to servo motor as logic was not engaging relay at times to switch modes, as IC was fine, but no power to relay, tested it and found cable to be problem, now works, also had to change the belt as someone install one way to small. If you look at picture you will see, you will see original size belt to the smaller one.

Paul, you'd better take detailed pics of it before you send it to Reno

Sorry, couldn't resist it.

Reno, thanks for putting this to rest, it takes balls to do this.  Much appreciated.

Yeah, sorry man, I appreciate that

radio.raheem - 2012-06-23 06:21

Well im glad to say...after over 30 hrs working on this walkman....it's working perfect...dispite being in the bin at one point....let's just hope the washers don't come of again....all i need is the silver one to complete the trio....and then show them off with my new camera wich i swapped for a laptop i had lying around....not sure if the camera is high spec but it's a panasonic lumix--fz45....quite an amazing bit of kit for a newbee camera user like me...it has options galore...love it
