Sony WM60 problem

claret.badger - 2012-08-07 14:49

So, I got me a Sony WM60 at a price that I thought was reasonable - they guy sold it as may need a belt change.

A standard caveat - but I took a punt

Anyway - it arrives yesterday and the unit powers up - ie LED comes on when keys are depressed - but there is no sign of life from the motor whatsoever.

Any ideas?

PCB or motor failure?

more importantly can it be fixed - or is it a trashcan job?

More likely siezed motor, or belt wrap around the pulley, sure be a easy fix.

nice one

time to go inside

f@*£ in hell

OK so I took this apart - and yes it is the belt

but a combination of my frustration, ignorance, fat fingers, wrong screwdriver right hammer means that i cannot fathom ho to remove the inner PCB without busting anymore plastic inside this walkman

The belt is stretched so much it goes around my head

and I'm reaching for a beer - now i've closed the damn thing up

I'll be sending this to doc with my DC2 it seems

bugger

and double drat
