Embarking on fixing my Sony WM-F10 (need a belt)

Hello folks,

I'm really psyched to have found this forum. I started pulling this thing apart earlier today and can already see that the belt is in bad shape (to start). I have a backup unit to source for parts as well, but this one seemed like the it was the better one. The radio does not work, the tape deck obviously does not work, but at least there are some clicking sounds in the headphones when I turn it on, press play, flip switches, etc. But right now, nothing is turning (reel motor or capstan). So my first question is... is there anyone that knows where to find a replacement belt? I saw some talk of them on old threads, but figured I shouldn't hijack and post my own. Thanks so much for any help!

49mmX0,6mm square cut.

Try here: index.php?board_oid=193392314111653483&content_oid=193392314111868934

I source my belts locally however.

Alternatively chat to boardmember DocP who is a WM-10 expert and can supply the exact sized belts you need.

i purchased 6 of those sony 3-315-405-00 from parts store.com about a year ago. i used 4 right away and put 2 away just in case. they came from parts store.com and they usually were available. they are the ticket for f-10 through f-30's and a few more. easy job, most of the time spent cleaning up the melted gook. i just checked and they no longer carry them. it's a shame !!!!. i have also purchased about 100 belts from doc p. check with him as he is the man.
